Farewell old friend

Well not too old, not even a year old. I though it only happened to other people, those who didn't treat their box with the utmost respect. Well I was WRONG. I treated it better then any of the others. I regret to inform you that our beloved white box died today after a console update, she went belly up with the dreaded Red Ring of Death.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

At first I thought I was just seeing things, I had to stop and look very closely, maybe I was just imagining it. Nope. I turned it off hoping that it would just magically "go away". Nope. I called my wife (Geishagirl) first in a panic, maybe she could help, I got voicemail. So I had to do the only thing left, I called Microsoft Support. I have to say so far my experience with them has been pleasant, I was on hold for about ten seconds, and the guy who was helping me spoke pretty good English, I never even had to ask him to repeat himself. My coffin should be here in three to five days, and he said it would be one to two weeks from the time they receive it to the time I get it back. So we bid you farewell for now, you have given us many funfilled hours, may your trip be a safe one, and may you return better than new.

While you are gone though, there will be someone in your place, may I introduce the Core. Thankfully I had a few extra dollars, and moved some bills around so I was able to purchase a backup. Although, I do miss the shiny disc tray door, I will not miss the launch of Halo 3. Once the Pro System returns Geisha will get the Core, so no more split screen woes for us.

That's what I did on my first RROD too. I wonder how many of the millions of xbox 360's sold were for playing as a backup to the RROD during repairs?
