The phone company disconnected my line today, I guess because they felt like it.  The draft for my bill goes out tomorrow, so it's basically paid already.  I called them from my Dad's house to bitch at them and they really don't know what happened, so the customer service rep. put an emergency re-connect order out at no charge (well no shit) that would take up to two hours.  Well, it's been two hours and still no phone.  The company has a monopoly on the area we are in, so it's not like I can threaten them with going with someone else.  I despise cell phones and what they have become, so that's not an option for me at least.  Oh well, at least I still have DSL.

I have phone internet and cable all together. If I piss off my company I'm triple screwed.

Yeah, that's what I thought, DSL, but no phone? Weird. Aachmed, who do you have Time Warner?

Why dont you just get a Voice Over IP phone then?

As a 'temporarily disconnected' expert I can tell you that phone service always goes before DSL is disconnected. It is our final warning...PAY THAT PHONE BILL!!!! or no internet service about a week later.

Yeah Groovy, that was fun. I found that my settings on my router were not correct. Folks had not been able to join me and vice versa for a week or more. I'm not sure what happened, I nay have hosed them accidentally while changing something else.
