The Avatar Explained

Aachmed asking about my avatar gave me the genesis of this blog so thanks!

My Avatar is a stereograph of a star going pulsar. It was adapted by graphic Designer Peter Saville for use as the Album cover on Joy Division's Unknown Pleasures record. That record contains the song New Dawn Fades which is where my screen name/ gamertag comes from. Joy Division are one of my top 5 favorite bands of all time and their music is as devastating to hear now as when it was first released over 25 years ago. Ian Curtis' tragic end has crystalized them into a timeless wonder.

I'm sure you've noticed that most of my blogs deal with or contain music or musical references. It's because music is one of the most important parts of my life. Music, whether listening to or actually playing or creating it, has sustained me through out my life. It has literaly saved my life in the past. I can't imagine a world without music. So hopefully now my blogs will make some more sense to the 2old2play community.
