Soul Calibur 4

I was playing Soul Calibur 4 today and I was using Sophitia and Cassandra two of my main characters today. My mains for the game are the sisters as stated before and Amy, Zasalamel and Raphael. As for what I did today on the game I made some new outfits for my characters and I had alot of fun fighting ppl online.

However It seemed that I would run into alot of people using these characters. Kilik mass spam of his high and low forward attacks with his wide swings thrown in which by the way is easy to bait someone into spamming so you get in close for a combo. Cervantes players using the same gun shot, teleport and forward spin attacks which all of this can be side stepped and lets not forget one more Mitsurugi and they would just spam his mid game attacks if you get close.

Now do not get me wrong I am crying about this. I am just wondering why do people want to spam moves when it does not get you anywhere when it comes to getting more skilled at the game. There is so much more they can be doing in the game. Are people just lazy or are they just looking for the easyest way to win or are they doing both or something else.
