So my first three years in Japan were amazing, a total culture shock. First weekend there me and my buddy went hiking up Mt. Fuji, didn't make it all the way up, but hiked half way. A very long walk. We camped out at the base in some campground, the only thing we brought to eat was jack daniels and some rotz crackers. A very friendly Japanese man with his family invited us over for a cook out at his camp ground. He made us white rice, some type of meat and of course saki, which we traded some Jack Daniels for. Interesting night.. So the next morning, the three of us get rowing boats to go on the huge lake near Mt Fuji. So we are out in the middle of the lake, we had the oars up and just a snoozing off the hang over when abruptly a loud screaming horn bellows out from this ancient look-a-like Japanese ship(1700s) barreling down on our little row boat. Needless to say, the rest of the Jack Daniels goes overboard, what a waste, and we get our asses in gear and start rowing our to the shore. Of course when we get to shore there are a ton of Japanese people looking at us calling us stupid "gaijins", thats foreigners in english, it was priceless. I have a picture somewhere of the ship passing along side of us with the captain shaking his fists at us. Once we turn the rowboat over to the owners, we continued on our merry way back to the base. So that was my first weekend outside the U,.S.

On a current note, got the inlaws coming down from Georgia to visit the new house we just built in Florida and they will be staying the whole weekend.
