Tenn. A.D. Mike Hamilton is backing out of previously scheduled home & home series with North Carolina; the series was to start in 2011-2012. This comes after Hamilton declined a proposed home & home with USC & Lane Kiffin. The theory floating around is since Tenn. is down they don't want to play an up and coming UNC team. Look for Hamilton & Coach Dooley to put their spin machine on, this I want to hear.

The replacement team will be Buffalo, nice.

Hamilton is a fool. Because they're down is the perfect opportunity to take on some tough games (since when was UNC a tough game anyway?). Playing a tougher schedule will have a positive impact on recruiting, which should be their number one priority. If they win, they're persevering and succeeding in spite of Kiffin. If they lose, it's no big deal, they're down because Kiffin screwed them. 10RC has had every chance to come out of the Kiffin debacle looking good and garnering sympathy. Hell, the day Kiffin screwed them, I was sympathetic to the Vols. However, after they hired Dooley (who I am kind of rooting for), they've been doing nothing right in the court of public opinion. I can sort of understand backing out of USC due to the bad blood. At least push it back a few years. However, backing out of UNC (or any other BCS program) is a joke.

Dooley's goal is a bowl game in 2011, unlikely to reach one this year. The reasoning i'm hearing is. 4 non conference wins against Cincy (maybe), UAb, Buffalo, some other pancake, then wins over Vandy & UK. Tenn. expected to have brutal schedule in SEC, w/out bowl recruiting will harder.
