Have you done a good deed today?

Snakemeister gave me an idea today.  He related how this morning someone had asked him for directions to a certain building and at the moment of the encounter, he didn't recall the location.  A few minutes later, after walking away, he did remember and went back to the gentlemen and gave him the directions since he never would have found it otherwise.  Basically snake went out of his way to help this other person.

Alright, so what does this have to do with me? 

I went next door just now to have dinner and since it is the grandparents time to eat (5 pm) there were a few older couples having breakfast.  I happened to over hear that the husband of one couple was having a birthday today and is 87.  I continued listening to his wife talk about their son, in a louder voice since he was hard of hearing, and how worried she was because of his job, etc.  Made me think of the grandparents I don't have and what they would be like right now.

I finished dinner and decided to pick up their check also, as a Happy Birthday and left.  No, I didn't introduce myself or let them know I had done this.  This wasn't about me being recognized, just that they would know someone wanted to wish them a good evening.
