Shared on Tue, 09/04/2007 - 10:17I got to thinking yesterday about luck. Good or bad, it doesn't matter. On the way to the airport we got a flat tire. (Bad) But, we were only five minutes from Dastard's parents house so we were able to change vehicles and continue on our way. (Good) Air conditioning is on the blitz. (Bad) We were driving home at night so it was cooler. (Good)
So, which one do we focus on? Usually the bad. So, why doesn't the good balance the bad? Yes, it is an inconvenience to have the tire replaced or repaired (dont' know which until I take it in tomorrow) but it isn't the end of the world and sh*t happens. No one's fault. Same with the air conditioning. So the freon needs to be recharged. I don't have control over when these things occur, just deal with them as they come along. Look for the silver lining. It may not always be visible, but it is there. It helps in dealing with the unexpected or bad.
Overall it was a good weekend. I tempted the younger stepson with the COD4 beta yesterday and was upset with himself for not playing it earlier. He was loving the game. I had to laugh. The oldest was wanting to play and have his turn and I looked at him and said, you live here, let the kid play until we leave in 30 minutes. It was kind of funny. Now I get to see how long it takes him to regain an interest in the game now that his brother isn't here.
Time finish homework and start a new project for next week!
