Even older gamers can become frustrated when they're consistently the lowest-ranked player in a match. The goal for the Low Rollers clan is to provide a place for these people to meet up and play with people of their own skill level.
For example, maybe you're great at Rainbow Six Vegas, but absolutely suck at Gears Of War. Joining a dedicated GoW clan is likely to hook you up with hardcore Gearheads, who know every level and weapon location. Sure, you could learn the maps the hardest possible way, by being a punching bag for everyone else. But that's really not all that much fun, at least not to me.
I think the Low Rollers clan should be an open, public clan - more like a message board than a traditional members-only club. It'd provide a place for lesser-skiled gamers to interact with each other, share tips, plan games, etc. Everyone involved right now is a 360 player, so I'm proposing the clan start as a 360 clan. If someone wants to take the concept and run with it for other platforms, rock on.
I've got a commitment from about 6 people so far, including a willing co-moderator. We've all been playing RB6 with each other and having a blast. It's a ton more fun to play with people like yourself, people who laugh when they can't hit the broad side of a barn with an assault rifle. I'll be happy to work on forum signature graphics with a Low Rollers theme, maybe even forum avatars.
We wouldn't be dedicated to any particular game; any game you want to play, just say so. I realize there are already dedicated forums for specific games, but Low Rollers would encourage people to interact and expand their experiences. What if - like me - you suck at both RB6 and Gears, but want to play both? Instead of starting two identical "I need rookies to play with" in two forums, just hop over to Low Rollers and let us know what you want to play.
If your skill at a game improves enough that you're ready to play with the big boys, awesome. Go for it. Maybe we'll even dream up some kind of silly "graduation" ceremony.
It's all about fun, all about having a good time. There's no shame in being a rookie. Rookies need love too. Let's get a place for the rookies to hang out, get to know each other, and enjoy like-minded and evenly-skilled players.
If this concept appeals to you, let me know. Once I get the right number of confirmations, I'll post the official request for the moderators. Feel free to comment or PM me with questions, ideas, etc.
