Mass Effect 2 Pet Peeve

I picked up Mass Effect 2 on Wednesday.  I was delayed because my car was still at the shop.  I got home from work all excited about playing my new game.  I turne it on and import my old character.  Then I start playing.  It was all good until I tried to read the sub titles.  Someone please tell me why they are using that micro print?  Not everyone has a 50" TV.  I thought my 32" was ok until I tried to read the print on this game.  I actually had to put my desk chair directly in front of the TV in order to attempt to read any of the text.

I had given up on reading any of the sub titles.  I figured it was not a big deal as long as I paid attention to the dialog I'd just hear everything.  That was working OK for me until the first tie I had to choose some dialog to say.  I got up close and personal to the TV and squinted to read my choices. It was horrible. The messages that flash up on the screen to tell you if you've gotten paragor on renagade points was also way too small to read.  After 4 hours of playing the game I had a headache from all the squinting and I just gave up and went to bed.

I checked the options menu and I could not find anywhere to adjust the font size.  I am now in the market for some binoculars that you can wear like glasses.  Then maybe I can actually know what options I'm choosing.

I gotta say Bioware this is definitely a FAIL!

Keep waiting for a patch DL, the developers stated that it was made that way by design, and there are no plans to change it.

For the first time ever I went the 'cinematic' route and just crank the volume up on the idiot box and turn the music down in the game options. Day 0 I went 13 hours straight, after a 7 hour session after picking it up, only reason I had a headache was because I hadn't slept for at least 36 hours by the time I turned the box off.

its not a FAIL... its a great game. The font sizes are not small at all compared to other games at least from what I can see. In fact they seem a bit bigger than most games.

@Falelorn you should read the posts on the Bioware site. I'm not the only person who can't read the text. Apparently the game was optimized for HD and I don't have an HDTV so I'm left out in the cold. And I can tell you that neither myself nor my daughter who has 20/20 vision could read the text very well. All that squinting and straining gave me a headache. I don't really care about the subtitles cuz I can just listen to what they say but trying to make decisions is a pain. The text is definitely a lot smaller than ME1. That I could read with no problem. If you can read it then you're lucky. I probably won't play this game again until they patch is for us non HD people. And I paid $70 for this...
