Putting Netflix on the 360 is what prompted me to start my free trial in the first place. The lure of being able to watch old movies and some TV shows what just more than I could resist. I'll admit I don't use my DVD option nearly as often. My Wii was disconnected for about the past 6 months. Today I finally managed to hook it up to the wifi, update it and then setup my Netflix.
So far I like the interface. It seems a bit less complicated than the 360 interface. I like the way it pages through the queue instead of just moving through it one item at a time. I have a pretty large instant queue and scrolling through it on the 360 always takes so long. I am always readjusting it so that whatever I want to watch is 1st so it doesn't take so long to find something good to watch. I have noticed the change in video quality. Apparently the Wii is only in standard def and the 360 is in HD. Even though I do not have an HD tv I can notice the difference in video quality. It's not bad on the Wii at all just a bit different. One thing that has suprised me is the lack of buffering. I have noticed on several occassions on the 360 that I will get a 'internet connection has slowed' message and then it has to rebuffer whatever I'm watching. I have always found that very frustrating since my 360 is wired to my router at the moment. So far on the Wii no buffering. I am on a wireless connection and I'm in the basement so I would think this would be the connection that would be not so hot. Maybe the standard def is the reason.
Semi related question... Has anyone had any problem with their instant queue not updating correctly on the 360/Wii? I deleted a bunch of shows and add a few new ones online. After that every so often when I view the instant queue on the 360/Wii it displays the queue from before I made my changes yesterday. I have to completely close out of Netflix and start it again and then the queue is displayed correctly.
Quite frustrating...
