Yes, it gets worse

So in case you guys have not heard, my completely cursed automobile was finally stolen from me.  As many of you know, it was taken from my own garage and found a state over filled with beer bottles, mud, and smoked joints.  Obviously when I drove the 3 hours out there to get it, it wouldn't start.  The thief's had managed to burn out my clutch and ditch it in the middle of a highway off ramp.  After all was said and done, the cost of towing the car, stripping it for inspection, and replacing the clutch is going to leave me at around $4,000.  Oh well, at least it's over I thought....

I'll just pay the $1,000 deductible and be on my way.  Right?  Wrong.  So today I had my insurance company call me to take a statement.  Trouble is, I already gave them my statement last week when the car was stolen.  Guess, what.  They had no record of me contacting them and starting the claim.  This means no adjuster was sent out to look at my car and I was back to the beginning.  FUCK.  Oh well, lets start all over again.  So we go through my statement of how the car was taken etc....

SIDE NOTE: The strange thing with the car was that the thief's had broken in with little or no damage to the steering wheel column.  You couldn't even tell the car was stolen.

So we finish up and I ask, "So when is this going to be handled.  I have people waiting on my money at the shop and I really want to get this car taken care of."  To which she basically responds that there will need to be a further investigation.  WHAT THE FUCK!  Well, because there is not enough damage on the steering wheel, they need to see if maybe the car was "taken" for another reason.  So now I have to sit here and listen while this bitch insinuates that I had something to do with my own car being taken.  As if I would be dumb enough to steal my own car, smoke weed, drink beer, and leave it in PLAIN VIEW in another state.  If i was going to steal my own wouldn't it be smart to actually break the window?  Wouldn't it be better not to live it in the middle of a highway to be recovered?

So there you have it.  The saga continues and I feel it will never end until I'm completely in debt and living on the streets.  At least then I will be without this god forsaken car.

P.S.  Thanks to all the people that donated to the site when they heard about it.  For the first time in a while we were able to actually pay off the monthly server fees and then some.  I really appreciate your efforts and it means a lot to me.  Thanks so much.  Oh, and in case you thought the money was going to be wasted, I actually have plans for a pretty major site overhaul in the coming months.  ;)

Damn Doodi, your luck is running (away). Hey man, just keep your head up and things will get better. I'm from New Orleans, so I know about bad luck here and there. The only good thing about times like these, it can only get better.

Wow, sounds like a great offer. I won't be making the same one. Sorry about your insurance troubles. I work in the business. Feel free to pm me with any questions. As far as your scenerio about stealing your own car, smoking weed in it, dumping beer cans in it, dumping it in the next state over and forgeting to break a window to make it look like it was stolen.... yeah that happens... more often than you think, lol. Just stay the course. It would have to be proven that you were being fraudulent (that's what they're checking on). In the end, if you don't get anywhere, there are tons of attorneys that like nothing better than to sue insurance companies. You could probably get one at no cost (if you win).

Wow sorry to hear the bad news. Side note: Did you get the name of the first agent you talked to? It is a good idea to get peoples names when dealing with customer service. Then you could of said "I talked to so and so about this last week please put so and so on the phone please"

This is why we need capital punishment. You know... for how much we pay insurance companies on a "what if?" kind of situation where *if* we get in an accident we're covered and how many people I'm sure go without an accident for a great long while and more than pay for any repair that might ever be needed.... you'd think they wouldn't treat us all like we're crooks trying to rob them with each claim. Insurance companies can burn for me. Burn for me in hell.

OMG that sucks! You don't by chance have Progressive as your insurance do you? I know they have a tendency to lose statements and claims like that.
