Bumblebee is the coolest robot in film history.

Megan Fox (Mikaela) is so gorgeous it hurts.

Shia LeBeouf (Sam) is the only actor who could have played this part.  Lucky bastard.

Michael Bay did it right.

The action sequences are some of the best since Matrix.

I was so pleased with this film. I had so many doubts about it, and they were all unfounded. I don't think I could have happier.

I would have to agree on all of those.

There were too many G.I. Joe's in my giant robot movie. "we can't make Megatron turn into a gun....laws of science & blah blah". He didnt have to be a gun...maybe a tank or something. but not a plane...come on. No...but you can make a cube the size of the Hoover damn turn into a cube the size of a football so the kid can carry it under his arm...yeah. The action was good....but tooooo many people. I don't care about the kids problems with ladies...or that his parents embarrass him. Everyones parents do that. I wanna see more robots dammit!

@Gatsu: I agree that less parents would have been nice. I still think that Michael Bay did a great job and that the Transformers transition to film could have been much, much worse. (i.e. Dungeons&Dragons to film).

Yeah it could have been alot worse....but I wouldn't have chosen Michael Bay to direct... I would have gotten Steven Spielburg to direct as well as produce. Michael Bay didnt even wanna use Prime's original voice...but backlash from fans made him change his mind.

Doscon, I pretty much have to agree with you on all points. I had more fun watching this movie than any I've seen in a long time -- certainly the best of the 2007 "blockbusters".

Agreed on all points ... enough that I think I might have to watch it again tonight, but this time with the web-enabled functions on. :)

I definitely agree with Darth. I had a blast watching this movie. I'm glad we went to the theater to get the "full" effect.

the only problem i have with it is sorta symptomatic of many of the new crop of directors -- the "shaky cam". Yes, it is a great new way to express visually the excitement and chaos of an action scene, and it was great in movies like "Seven" and it's even used to great effect in Gears with the roadie run, But -- if you are going to spend millions for great CG robots effects, then hold still dammit for just a freakin second so I can actually get a look at one! the fight scenes were great, but too much gratuitous overuse of "shaky cam" I still dont even know what the hell Soundwave's little robot spy looks like, because he was just a hyperactive blur of silver metal ... but on whole, still awesome port of the original.

Awesome movie! Totally happy that it blew my expectations away! I really missed Iron Hide's and Starscream's original voices though. Next to Optimus, those were my other fav voices. (It was Peter Cullen that did Iron Hide's voice in the cartoon too... I guess I can see them not wanted to dual-task a voice actor in a movie). Yes, Starscream's voice was high-pitched, whiny and annoying, but you cannot deny that fit his character perfectly! The only complaint I have with this movie is that good looking blond and her hacker friend working on the code. That whole storyline could probably be dropped entirely from the movie and it would not be missed.
