ARTofWAR logo

I have the privilege of being co-Captain(overlord) for the ARTofWAR clan. With this honor came the opportunity to create an identity for the clan.
ARTofWAR (AOW) is primarily a Gears of War clan. The clan and title were launched in near unison. The influence of Gears for the logo is an obvious one. The process itself was fun and every member, at the time, had the opportunity to voice their opinion on the logo's adoption. Design, like life, is a struggle. Knowing that we would be and were playing other titles, how much should Gears influence the logo? Should we incorporate the cog and the skull? As the designer, am I too close to this theme of razor wire and barbed wire? (which I'll expand on later) Razor wire is present in the game and there is a quantity of it in the conceptual art. The color combination was easy. I'm certain that over time, this mark will evolve but its integrity should remain for a quite a while. I like it and am looking forward to seeing the logo on a tee in the near future.
