MY TOP 10 MOVIE MONSTERS:

#2. King Kong

1933. 1976. 2005. These are the dates that set King Kong as one of the best movie monsters of all time and my #2. From humble beginnings as Kong on a small island in the Indian Ocean to the Eighth Wonder of the World and King Kong in New York City, the big ape has seen a lot. I've seen all three versions (I'm not counting the various spinoffs) and Kong is one of my all time favorites. The story is a classic. What's not to like? Kong is badass and he always gets the girl, which leads to his demise. Hmm. That sounds realistic to me. Back to the babes: Fay Wray in '33, Jessica Lange in '76 (bite-your-knuckle-gorgeous), and more recently Kong tangled with Naomi Watts in Peter Jackson's '05 remake. No wonder chicks dig Kong. He's strong, tall, dark, gentle yet protective and at his size, the "size-matters" discussion is mute. Kong is King.

#3. Pinhead
#4. The Predator
#5. Jaws
#6. The Thing
#7. Werewolves (An American Werewolf In London)
#8. Godzilla
#9. Gremlins
#10. Pumpkinhead

never really was a big fan of Kong. He wasn't really a monster. He didn't kill indiscriminantly..and wasn't really evil. He was just a big animal that was tormented and went berserk. Monsters are evil or have evil intent.

I believe the skull island natives fed him virgins on a regular basis. I think he fits. He fits in my list.

@waterborn: that's the real reason Kong made the list, '76 Jessica Lange.

King Kong always makes me sad to watch. The game for the 360 was fun though. On a side note, went to see 30 Days of Night over the weekend. Enjoyed it. Saw a preview for Alien vs Predator: Requiem http://movies.go.com/aliens-vs-predator/d911563/sci-fi
