Here's a remake that Hollywood got right. I loved this film. If you're not into Westerns, don't worry, you'll enjoy this movie on a multitude of levels that have nothing to do with the Wild West. For starters, the cast is great: Russell Crowe, Christian Bale, Ben Foster, Peter Fonda, Gretchen Mol, Vinessa Shaw, Alan Tudyk, and more. The script is well written and James Mangold's direction is outstanding. Among other greats in the genre, I place 3:10 on equal footing with Tombstone and Unforgiven.

I thought the movie was great up until the ending. I thought the ending ruined the flick. Crowe's motivation to do what he did just didn't make sense to me. He risked too much for such little payoff.

I think that's the beauty of the ending, in that Crowe's character was consistent throughout - self motivated.

great movie, up there with unforgiven for sure Liked the ending, it fit with Crow's character, a honor bound outlaw. He fought his nature but in the end could not deny it in the company of good men. SPOILER But him calling his horse, you know in 10 minutes he will be out of that cell, riding off to another town..
