For those of you that aren't familiar with this show, it is basically a symphony orchestra and chorus playing music from video games. They played classic stuff like Super Mario Bros to Halo 3. The music is complemented by gameplay footage shown on three big screens and a laser light show. It is hosted by Tommy Tallarico, who is an accomplished composer of video game scores and was also the host of the tv show "Electric Playground" on G4 (or maybe tech tv, can't remember exactly which one).
I thought the show was pretty well put toghether. I enjoy the Houston Symphony already and hearing them play music from some of my favorite games was pretty cool, I must admit. My favorite moment of the show was when all the lights were low, the screens went black, and slowly the orchestra started playing a few bars of an eerily familiar tune. Then all of a sudden on the screen... BIOSHOCK. The sounds of Rapture filled the concert hall. I recommend this show when it comes to a venue near you. Check out www.videogameslive.com for concert details.
If anyone else has seen this show, I'd like to hear your thoughts!
