More fun at work

So if you don't know, I am a big prankster. Especially at work, mainly because I can get away with it more than most. Recently, my commanding pofficer asked me to review the comments he was putting on the Sergeant's evaluation reports and to add any tweaks he thought would add to the mostly glowing reports. (We have a REALLY REALLY squared away bunch of Marines in the company) So naturally, I couldn't resist the temptation to pull a prank on my commanding officer. He sent me an email with his comments and asked that I add or edit his as I see fit. This is the end result that i e-mailed back to him. Read carefully, as some of them are tied in very subtly. The names have been changed, obviously.

Sgt Smith

MRO has flourished in the Combat Instructor environment. Completely takes

ownership of his duties and focuses 100% of all his effort into developing

students. Unwavering in his duties, MRO serves as a positive role model and

representative of Marine NCOs. He consistently sacrifices chickens and his

off duty time in order to remediate and better prepare students for the

operating forces. He has the outstanding ability to focus on mission

accomplishment without sacrificing troop welfare. Extremely professional in

everything that he does, MRO is trusted to independently handle the

individual duty of training and developing 0341 mortarmen. MRO has

unlimited potential, just like Bruce Lee. Recommended for Infantry Squad

Leaders Course. Promote with peers.

Sgt Jones

MRO ranks #2 out of 12 solid NCO's serving as combat instructors.

Technically and tactically proficient and well as physically hard. MRO

exudes command presence and carries himself as a senior Staff NCO. He was

nominated and competed for meritorious promotion but lost due to keen

competition. At all times he is actively engaged in the personal and

professional development of student Marines. As the senior Sgt in the

company he actively incorporated and developed new instructors in the

company using groundbreaking cloning procedures and gene splicing

technology. His knowledge and advice is sought after by fellow Combat

Instructors as well as the company staff. MRO is ideally suited for

challenging leadership billets. Unlimited potential. Promote soonest.

Sgt Doe

MRO is an aggressive leader who is adamant about developing new Marines in

to Machine Gunners. Personally engages all the students in his charge. His

dedication and drive produce outstanding results within his section. This

Marine proudly spends extra hours maintaining and issuing over 500 pieces of

armory equipment. MRO is extremely professional and develops new procedures

and policies with regards to weapons and equipment assigned to the company,

mainly because he also wants to be a secret government spy with laser beam

guns. He intuitively correlates all student training with real world

experience in order to enhance understanding. Recommend highly challenging

duties outside of his MOS for career development. Promote with peers.

Sgt Slaughter

MRO is an intense leader who uses his immense proficiency as an 0351 to

produce the best results within the weapons platoon, his OCD helps out a lot

I that arena as well. He is consistently a top performer within the company

with a focus on physical fitness and being the duty expert in his

occupational field, especially since he is the only 0351 in the company...so

he gets that by default, I suppose. His drive is evident in his efforts to

actively develop his students into technically proficient 0351's. He is

unrelenting in his duties and has a keen ability to motivate students and

fellow instructors. It should also be noted that his alter ego still remains

a secret to this day. MRO is physically and mentally hard, with his standard

of excellence set above his peers. Recommend highly challenging duties

outside of his MOS for career development. Promote with peers.

I do realize that this may not seem as funny to all, but for those with a military background...you might appreciate this. One of the things I love about my job and the Marine Corps is the working relationships and the comraderie that enable crap like this to be pulled off from time to time.

While I'm not military, I can appreciate the comments about OCD, cloning, alter egos, \"lasers\", spies, etc.. Nicely done, it left me chuckling.

Nice to know that SOI got it's shit together finally.\r \r When I went through, the majority of the instructors were shitbirds and shitheads.\r \r All the training companys had their own reputations. Usually negative reps.\r \r I was fortunate enough to get with a company that didn't have a negative rep. Delta. aka - \"Do Nothing Delta\" \r \r Don't let that moniker fool ya. It was just a comparison to the other 3 companies that we \"did nothing\".\r \r Alpha - \"Asshole Alpha\"\r Bravo - \"Bitching Bravo\"\r Charlie - \"Crazy Charlie\" (The worst of the bunch)
