Nostradamus 2012

History Channel ran Nostradamus 2012 last night.  I have to say that I only watched the first hour of the two hour show, but  I was terribly disappointed.

The premise of the show is that a new "lost book of Nastradamus" which recently turned up in an auction contains predictions about 2012.  The problem is that there was no question about the authenticity of the book.  The book was assumed written by Nostradamus because it had his name written on it.

They showed the book.  The pages were white, not aged or weathered, the color pictures did not appear faded at all.  The pictures looked like they were copied directly off a cheap set of Tarot cards.  The book may be authentic, but this was never considered in the episode, and from what was shown, it's authenticity is questionable.

I don't have a problem with speculative evaluation, that is an important part of science, but the History Channel should have enough sense to perform due dilligence on a supposed historical document.

Just my thoughts.

Actually they had done another show about the book & verified it's authenticity. speculation is that it was done by his son because he died before it was finished

I watched most of it, in a nutshell it said global warming will be the end of us all, or not.
