Shared on Fri, 08/03/2007 - 03:34As previously stated, I was going to wait it out to get tickets for the Supernatural signing. However, standing around for an hour is not taking advantage of my limited time. So I continued to walk the convention floor and check the surrounding booths, checking the WB booth to make sure that I do not miss the passing out of the tickets. Because I was going to wait for the tickets, I would miss the Supernatural panel itself. I was interested to hear what direction they were going to take the show, since it seem that the storyline for the past two seasons had been resolved. I guess they were not certain if the show was going to be renewed or not, so they tied up the series main storyline. However, they are coming back for another season, so it should be interesting. I made it back to the WB booth about 10 minutes before the schedule time and waited for a little bit. There was a crowd around the booth and I decided to join in. A few minutes later, they started to give tickets and everyone made a mad dash. Holy crap, it was like they were giving away gold or something. Unfortunately I was unable to secure a ticket, so a little dejected, I decided to catch the last of the Supernatural panel. Smallville tickets were going to be given out later but I could only imagine the madness for that, so I decided not to even try.
I walked into the Supernatural panel during the Q&A portion and was totally lost. For those not familiar w/ the show, it deals w/ two brothers that fight ghosts and demons. They usually cover the urban legend myths and it's interesting to see their take on things. Only Jason Ackles, on of the stars, was on the panel. The others were writers and producers. I was not able to sit through the entire remaining panel as my cousin called. He and his buddy had returned from eating and they had gotten me some food. I met up w/ them and decide to check out the WB booth again. The stars of Sarah Chronicles panel was still signing and we were able to get a couple of quick pics. Next was off to the Marvel Studios panel. The event was going to be held at Hall H. Some of the movies that was going to be discussed was Iron Man and the remake of the Hulk.
As w/ my previous luck w/ Hall H, the line were ridiculously long. So instead of waiting, we decided to head off to the next panel, which is the Sarah Chronicles. We decided to change our strategy plan and head to the room and just sit and wait till the next panel. The policy is the security does not clear the rooms, so you can sit in a room all day if you wanted. I think this will be my strategy next year and I will pack a lunch, so I will not have to move.
We had no idea what panel we were going into but we didn't care, as long as we secure our seats. Once there, it was actually a nice surprise. The panel was for Ray Bradbury, famous author of Fahrenheit 451. It was quite interesting to hear about his viewpoints and ideas. Up next the Sarah Chronicles panel!
My cousin was really excited about this. He had seen the trailer for the show and was hooked. I myself had not seen anything but was open to check it out. Plus Smallville was going to be the next panel, so I was not going anywhere . We were treated to a sneak preview of the pilot and I must say this show is going to rock! I am simply amazed by the quality of the show, as it was up to par w/ the movies. The story basically takes place after Terminator 2 and kind goes off on it's own, so it doesn't acknowledge Terminator 3. Lena Headey is hot as Sarah Conner and Summer Glau kicks ass. I will not give away any details but if you like the first two movies, you will love this show. Afterwards, we were treated to a Q&A w/ the stars of the show. After answering a few questions, it appears that the writers has a story arch for at least two years. So tell all of you friends to check it out! Next up is Smallville and the introduction of the new Supergirl!
We had decent seats but I was determine to get as close as I can for Smallville. I am a big fan of the show, even though Batman is the man! Plus I have a huge crush on Kristin Kreuk (Lana Lang). Sadly, she has never shown up for any comic convention.
Actually neither has Tom Welling (Clark Kent). A clip is show that summaries the past season and we are also shown some scenes to the upcoming season. The panel includes Erica Durance (Lois Lane), Justin Hartley (Green Arrow), the producers Al Gough & Miles Millar and the newest cast member Laura Vandervoort (Supergirl). This show definitely knows how to get the guys to watch. Before the Q&A starts, the producer informed the crowd that they still cannot have Bruce Wayne (Batman) or Diana (Wonder Woman) on the show. Due to whatever reason, WB execs have decided that they did not want either character on the show because of their upcoming movies. Apparently they do not want to confuse people w/ having them in a movie and on tv at the same time. However, they can have a show and movie about Superman? I do not understand Hollywood sometimes. Why not give what the fans want? Anyways, it was mention that Michael Rosembaum, had wanted to appear but recently had back surgery. Some tidbits were discussed about the show. They were going to bring back the Justice League back next season and it is to include some more members. So that should be interesting. That basically concludes day 3 of Comic Con.
Only one more day of reporting and that will conclude my blogging of Comic Con 2007. I leave you w/ a pic of Lena Headey and Summer Glau.

Until next time...
