SaltyDog Triathlon - Results

Results of the SaltyDog Triathlon (400m Swim, 10.5mi Bike, and 5K Run)
This time, NO DRAFTING PENALTY!  There was no drafting rule so I did everything I could TOO draft !!!  Anyway, I was pleasantly suprised to find out afterwards that I set a PR on this course, shaving off nearly two minutes from last years personal best.

2005 Results:
  Overall 120th out of 171 time of 1:21:44 and 13th out of 16 for my age group (25 - 34)

2006 Reults:
  Overall 52nd out of 200 time of 1:07:26 and 11th out of 21 for my age group (25 - 34)

2007 Results:
  Overall 41rst out of 200 time of 1:05:31 and 7th out of 25 for may age group (25-34)

The winner was from the Mens 35-44 division with a blistering time of 53:36, just smoki'n!!!
The fastest time from my age group of 25-34 was 57:47.

The acquatic center here is really nice. The swim for this event was eight 50meter lanes that you swam serpintine style, down one lane and back in the next lane and so on. Stay to the rigth and pass on the left. They shuffled everyone in the pool at 10sec intervals. So every ten seconds someone starts their swim.  I was number 125 based on my estimated swim time. Let me tell you, many many people exagerated their swim times. There was one guy walking in the pool after only a couple laps and he put himself in the top 25 best swimmers, yeah right!  LOL.  I passed three people in the pool and came out at 8:45 on the swim. I entered an estimated swim time of 9 minutes.  So I was happy to hit my mark.

Now this is drafting!!! This guy and I cruised along at a 21.5mph average, topping 23-24mph with the wind.
