Shared on Fri, 10/06/2006 - 09:39OK... Now when you are viewing a blog entry you will have the option to give that blog entry a thumbs up or down. This is not a judge of the content of someones blog, and the only effect it has is to which blogs get showcased up in the recent 4 at the top.
For example, if someone posts a silly "testing" blog entry, it shows up in the 1st slot. As people view it and give it a "thumbs down", there is a wighting algorithm that will slowly move it down the list. One person cannot kill an entry, and the algorithm can be tweaked if we feel it's being abused. Conversely, there is no special treatment for thumbs-upped blogs - they do not move up the list - however, because they have thumbs-ups to offset the downs, they will stay as normal.
This is a work in progress that will be tweaked as we go along...
