I can't wait...

We have finally planned our vacation to Las Vegas...and I can't wait!  3 and a half months (June 4th) and we shall sooooo be there :D  Neither of us have ever been to Vegas before, so trying to figure out where to stay was a bit of a issue for me.  I always hope for everything to be perfect and trying to research each hotel and shit to figure out which was the best bet for both fun and finances was a hassle.  Decided on the Riviera though...looks good, seems to have plenty of entertainment options, decent rooms, restaurants, all that good stuff.  Has anyone here ever been to that hotel...and if you have, any advice?  I'm all about the receiving of advice, and I love to give it too....though usually it isn't wanted or welcomed, lol. As far as other advice or thoughts....I need some thoughts on strip clubs, casinos, restaurants, nightlife, sight seeing...all that good stuff.

I am so damn excited!!

It has been a few years since I was there. You can research all of the strip clubs online, one word of caution, most have an entrance fee and a x-drink minimum... which the drinks are very expensive. So if you research, you can find ones without the minimums. Sightseeing... the M&M store is cool, the Grand Canyon is close, the top level of the Stratosphere-free, the new Pirates show outside Treasure Island-free, Water show outside the Bellagio-free. Plus, there are a couple shows that are cool, I just happened to see a show on the travel channel about erotic shows there, but can't for the life of me remember any names, sorry.

Spearmint Rhino. $25 cover in just about any titty bar there. There ARE full nudies, but no alcohol. I prefer the half nudies and then getting drunk. I normally gamble downtown at Binions, 4 Queens, Freemont St, etc. I do play mostly craps. Order the Las Vegas advisor, use all the coupons you can. Get all the gaming lessons you can squeeze in, it'll help you feel like less of a noob when gambling. Ahh, Vegas is like my home away from home. I turned 21 there, went to almost every titty bar in the city. If you have any questions, I'll answer them as best as I can. Try not to walk around the Stratosphere after dark.

I have never been to a bad show in Vegas. I have seen several Magic shows, Blue Man group etc. I think you will probably be ok with whatever you choose. To me, the biggest thing about Vegas is to get as much as you can for free. Get the tracking card for whatever casino you gamble in and have them track your bets etc. Even if it's only a free breakfast, its still free.

Durty...the M&M store is gone.. Pm me if you want a breakdown. I will need to know what kind of budget you will be working with and that kind of stuff. I can point you in pretty much any direction you want to go from inexpensive to HOLY SHIT I JUST SPENT HOW MUCH?!?!?!?!

I feel out of touch with the night life around here its been so long since Ive been out for a rager. Your budget is the key. If your budget minded, dont bother gambling on the strip...head east to Sams Town or Boulder Station for better odds and cheaper tables..otherwise they are all pretty much the same on the strip. Strip club wise, Club Paradise was always my favorite. It was the highest end place in town..Im not sure if it still is. It was pricey, but I always had a local vip card. Its right across the street from the Hard Rock. For Pre-game warmup drinking and gambleing it was always hard to beat slots-o-fun out in front of the circus circus...$.75 heinikens and cheap gambling then move on to somewhere else...I think the prices have been raised but it still should be a great deal. Not too far off the strip is Palice Station with $1 margharita's...and cheaper gambling..also a good place to start. For my money, the best steak dinner in town is in the Capital Grill which is across from the Wynn on the top floor of the Fashion Show mall...Its pricey tho...we spent $200 the other night for our anniversary dinner. I always get the porterhouse steak..skip the seafood, its only ok. There are a couple of swingers clubs near the strip...Not that I have any info on how good they are..

The best vacations I've ever had is the ones I planned where to stay and nothing else. Don't stress the details and just enjoy the moment because you guys have earned it. By the way, if you come back rich, will ya but me a present???

Of course, Rev!! :) Sorry about omitting the budget...we are talking not cheapest, but inexpensive. Budget of around 100-150 a day, not including gambling.

Make sure you tell the cabbie from the airport to take the short route to your hotel. Otherwise they take the expressway and it ends up taking twice as long to get to the hotel and costs twice as much. First question out of the cabbies mouth will be to ask if it's your first time there...almost guaranteed

I spent most my time at Luxor the last time I went....but that was mostly because I was 17 at the time and they were the only place that didn't kick me our for gambling....if you are at all into cars, hit the Imperial palace auto museum. they have some rare, nice, and sometimes unique cars.

When I went I noticed I spent a ton of money on cabs. We stayed on fremont street which was pretty fun but I think I would stay on the strip if I went again to avoid the 20 dollar cab fee.

Jennifer, that was one of the factors in choosing a hotel for us. I wanted somewhere that would be right on the strip so that we could walk nearly everywhere we wanted to go and only have to get a cab occasionally. We do plan on renting a car one day and going to the Grand Canyon or the Valley of Fire...which should be super awesome.

The Strip is huge or maybe I am just Lazy. I go to Vegas a few times a year and I always drive every where. I hear the Tao Night Club in the Venetian is one of the best. I am not one for clubbin though. Cabs do add up, you might want to take the monorail around if you dont have a rental car. Check out the volcano at the Mirage, Bellagio fountains, and there is the Sirens of T.I. all of which are free.
