Honesty

Why is it so hard for people to be honest? Why cant people put aside selfishness for honesty? Am I unique in this? Am I like the only person in the world who is honest about intentions and aspirations and desires? Is it really too much to expect the same from those I interact with? What you see is what you get, what I say is how it is. If i like it you will know. If I like you, you will know that too. The only requierment for being my friend is that you respond in kind. Am I really that nieve? At my age? WTF. I cant be or live any other way, so I guess I need to get used to being screwed over, repeatedly. I refuse to not trust, I cant be that kind of person, its not in my nature. I repeat......WTF

Thanks for listening

Your questions sound simple Emmy, sure wish I had the answers. And like the great person you are your looking for answers to blame yourself in a round about way, imo. Positive personality traits like being honest, caring and looking for the good in people/things comes with the chance of wrong choices and being hurt by them. Your not at fault, people that choose to take advantage of people and situations are and these people will always be in a portion of our lives unfortunately. My only advice is: dont let these people/current events change your personality, heart or trust-their the ones that need change. Your the one of a kind Emmy we all Love, why change that! :)

I feel ya EmDear! I'm honest to a fault, but tend to pair with those that aren't. Don't let people change you, River is right as rain. You're one of a kind- don't you go a-changin'! I

Im there with you Em. Its something my brain cant quite understand. I understand that honesty and following basic rules of society are required for a society to continue. Honesty can be painful sometimes, but we do it because its right. Yet some people cant get far enough past themselves to even consider honesty or doing something that helps anyone other then themselves.

I understand totally Em! Some people you encounter will pretend to be your friend just to get what they want, I've had this happen too many times cause I tend to be nice to everyone. People around me know that I go out of my way to help someone in need, and I get screwed because of it. Ice

I noticed women being dishonest with each other quite frequently. My wife has a group of friends and when one of the friends leaves early in the group they start talking about her behind her back. And they do this with everyone in the group. But thats being a hypocrite than being a liar. Women I believe feel the need to be liked by everyone, even the people they dislike.

I think some people just don't value honesty, and go with the path of least resistance.. i;m honest to a fault, when tends to piss some people off a bit.. but it's just my nature, so fuck'em .. besides, it's easier to be honest than to try to track a growing tapestry of lies and minor deceptions.. and i;m lazy..
