This is Katie, aka Fbk Sparkles, aka Goofee, aka PMS Goofee Katie came to me last night around midnight and said "Mom, my arm keeps shaking". Low and behold, theres her hand and arm twitching and shaking uncontrollably. I said "Take long deep breaths, relax and go to bed". Basically, I blew her off. She gets up the today, gets her school stuff together, takes three Advils (moms cure for everything) and goes to school. Still with the arm shaking. She doesnt even make it through first period. They have to call a zillion times to wake me, I of course having been up till 5 am with H3. I take her to my emergency room where I work and the attending doc on happens to be a very skilled neurologist. By 1130 am the spasms involve her right leg as well, even while she was snowed and asleep from the Ativan. Got an MRI, no tumor or anything like that. So shes transferred to a facility that has pediatric neurologists. Shes still snowed from the Ativan and the Depekote, which seemed to have NO effect on the seizure actiity whatsoever. They are talking possibly a neuro-psyche disorder, or copper toxicity, or strep A residual effects, or Simple Partial Seizure disorder. Tomorrow is the big work up day.

My usual reaction........WTF

Can she bend her arm? Does she feel any pain like arthritis pain? I will pray it's nothing serious Em, but the last thing you want to hear when you go to a doctor is that they don't know whats wrong with you.

Sorry to hear about his. My daughter, when she was 16 was late for school and I went to her room to do the strong coaxing thing and she was on the floor in a full seizure. Scariest thing I ever saw in my life. We never did find out what caused it. She is medicated and can control the episodes now at 23. She does get the shakes and says she can feel when it's coming on. We can talk more sometime, but please know there are others out here that can relate. Prayers..
