This is the post my soon-to-be-ex put up in his reef club forums, where he is well respected as a good guy:

"This past weekend had me at a NJ reefer club diving/collecting excursion off the coast of Belmar, NJ. Right from the shore.
It was interesting and a nice taste of Jersey diving, along with some club socializing. Some of the people didn't even get their head wet but collected using seine nets.
Nice diversion for me as the soon-to-be-ex hosted an internet boyfriend for the night in my home this weekend (not so bad figuring this one is likely over age 17)
I personally saw rather large (yummy?)blue crabs, and totally edible-size flounder.
People collected look-down fish, snails, seahorses, pipefish, jacks and spotted butterfly fish for their own home systems.
Question is.......anyone here do this in southern New Jersey/Delaware? From the shore, or from a boat?

I REALLY want to let all his buddies know what a great guy he is, how hes living with the woman he had affairs with, the mother of our niece, his brothers on/off sig other for twenty years, how he doesnt pay child support or have anything to do with his kids, doesnt work, just goes around buying stuff for his 180 gallon reef tank and travels.  I wont do it though, as I tend to stick to the high road.

You're a better person than I am. I'd definately go "fire with fire" route. But chances are people who know him, know what he's truly like and people who don't, don't care.

It would be hard for me to not 'adjust' his equipment. Barring that, it would be hard not to respond and flame the crap out of him on his forum(s). Just goes to show, you're a better person than I am. Good luck!

hmm...I just scrolled down your blog for this one and hopefully you still check it. Umm, actually the advice to use it for your court case is good. The courts generally don't look kindly on guys who instead of providing money for their kids support are spending money on their (very expensive) hobby. He should sell his equipment and give you some money, dang it!

Hey EM, sorry to hear about your trials with your ex. Sometimes people suck. Do yourself a favor though and stop visiting his forums, unless you were an active part of them before this whole mess, as you likely won't find anything there to make you feel better or improve your image of him.(unless of course you go looking for information to bolster your court cases, which might be good since he's not paying support but still can travel and now you have it in his own words that he's traveling...)

It sucks when you have to wear the pants and be the bigger "man" for lack of better terms. Looks like you dont have high expectations EM, I truly hope this can turn around soon for you to help ease your burdens and resposibilities (financial), lack of family interaction (his loss). Best of luck. BTW seafood is good for the munchies but be careful what you say about reefer clubs on the internet, BIG BROTHERS watching!

I was just clicking around on links and I read your blog for the first time, and was a bit upset. Best thing to do is to distance yourself from him, hope he pays support, plan for him not to, find a better person to share your time, and raise your family the best you can. Ruminating about him and sleeping all the time will only prolong your anger and sadness. I read this advice in fortune cookie. :)
