Well, I tried to play with the boys from 2old4tactics 360 last night and the ugly IP crash of death reared it's head.  Everything would be fine and then BOOM,  Vegas stops (not in the usual headshot to me way), Vonage dies, my wife screams about the internet being out and the four guys on horses show up at my door talking about some service called "A pock of lips" (whatever that is).

Anyway, I did the old "tracert" and saw that everything I was sending was dying around Atlanta.  Why?  Don't know, but now I get to call BellSouth Tech Support and tell them "Yes, the cable is connected to the modem.  Yes, I'm using the filter.  No, I'm not going to unplug the modem and plug it back in."

So what's your worst Tech Support/ISP story?  I think mine is when Cox Cable came to our apartment and stepped on a bathroom light when they were in the attic, pushing the light out and didn't mention it.  He also hooked us up to our neighbor's line rather than running a new line from the box, meaning we were "stealing" cable from our neighbor.  My wife saw the light in the bathroom after he left and were like "that's why he seemed so nervous when he left, I thought he just had to pee."  The whole stealing cable thing didn't come to light until our neighbor got satellite.  All of the sudden, we had no cable or internet and we called and Cox was like, everything looks good on our end.  We'll have to charge you $50 to come out and check it.  Wow, they don't know my wife at all.  That won't fly with her.

Anyway, what's your worst ISP/ Tech Support/ WTF with technology story?
