So the Walmart in my town is open 24 hours and my daughter has decided that sleep is for noobs. This is a good combination because I can generally take her to the store and let her run some of that energy off while she looks at jammies and playground balls.
So we get to Walmart, and the store is desolate as it usually is this time of night. Just a few night owls and a couple other parents with their sleep resistant toddlers. (you could almost start a support play group in the toy department, honest :)). I could tell that the store was "ready" for a rush of people because they had the main entrance to electronics blocked off so they could wax that section of the floor. Luck for me this Walmart recently realized that having more than one entrance to the electronics department was a good thing.
Around 10 til, an informal line started forming around the one register in electronics we could get to. By this time the walmart crew started to figure out that, yes we were all waiting for Rock Band. One of them took a quick survey to see which units they should bring out first. The 10 or so people in the line were all waiting for the Xbox 360 version. I don't think they sold a single PS3 version while I was in the store.
Still we managed to pay and get out with our copy of Rock Band quickly and efficiently.
Unfortunately I didn't have time to really play more than two songs when I got home. Definitely going to be good times though. Maybe I'll take some time to write up a real review later after I've had time to play with all the instruments. I'll probably put down my thoughts on Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4 first though.
