So this week I get back into some serious development of Solar Fury.
I make sure my laptop (main development computer) is clean, defragged, updated and has a new wallpaper..
I load up the last confirmed working code for Solar Fury version 0.1.385b and make sure it runs on the laptop.. perfect
I boot up my 360, load XNA club, run connect to computer... then I hit F5 to do a deployment build to the 360 it starts.. normally takes 2-3 minutes, so I pick up my cats tail and smack him on the head with it a few times till he scratches me.. <beeeep> wtf? (long string of error codes...) mnnn.. not good.
Go back 1 version.. same.. back 1 version.. same.. go back 5 versions... same... scream.. yell at the TV, kick the cat out of the way when heading up to pay the pizza guy.
load up the Space War Starter Kit.. build... same thing beep with lots of errors.. WTF..
uninstall .net framework, visual C#, XNA, etc.. reboot.
check for updates.. blah blah, re-download install everything... pizza is good
load up Space War.. same freaking error..
run to other room, get on game machine install everything, get the connect code to the 360, blah blah blah, run it.. it works.. run Solar Fury.. it works.. look at my development laptop.. wtf has changed.. same OS since the laptop was bought a year ago, no major updates.. Microsoft must have done something.. reformat and reinstall from DVD laptop.. quick (4 hour patch) install a few basics.. same thing.. beep error codes...
now I realize I have two choices.. get a HDD, and another 360, plus another TV that is high def... put in the main office or rearrange other room so I can put a desktop PC, monitor, keyboard/mouse etc in there.. so I can code the game.. or just say screw you MS and move to something else... screw the 360 and XNA.. bunch of wankers...
Ill be rearranging my room tonight i think, because its really cool seeing your stuff and playing it even in rough form on a console, been playing my stuff on a PC for 25 years now.... /sigh
