Lost Planet

I got this game on friday and was blown away, the demos never did it justice as this game really screams next gen.

The graphics are solid, decent sound work (could be better), controls are great, the game play is fun and diverse and overall the game is a riot.

BUT... I have had a few Xbox messages from people on my friends list who said things like

"Its a short game, hope you rented it"
"REALLY SHORT GAME, it sucks"
"BAD gAm3 sux "
"Lust Planet Short"

and while I am not done it yet, by the 10 mission I have put in 8 hours. I think I am close to finishing it, but it is not really short, its longer then Gears of War, and its not a bad game, but a down right fun game.

Its a mix of Starship Troopers (both the movie and the book to a degree) with some Mech Warrior and Bionic Commando thrown in. The graphics are STUNNING, only a bit of slow down when they use Physics for scripted destruction (which is two slow downs now), and the sheer amount of crap going on the screen with these 1000 ft tall monsters shooting things around, while a 500 foot long MOTH swoops over head and you are dodging stuff in your Mech.. the game has given me several WOAH this is AWESOME moments. When was the last time a game gave you more then 1 of those moments? Gears of War was 1, first time with the chain saw, that was it.

The game rocks and over all it is a must buy for action game fans.  And while the story is cheesy Japanese sci fi inspired, its not that bad. The graphics will blow you away when you get into it, and the demos suck. If I judged buying the game based on the demos, I would have not bought them..
