I see many people in 2o2p have a pet or two or five. That is cool, I really can not trust someone who doesnt have a pet. They do complete you as a person, as a family and are always there and loyal (even cats).

I talk to my cat, he answers in his own way with little meows, or whines if I dont get a treat to him fast enough, or I am making a Tuna something or other and he wants it. He comes and lays down beside me and cuddles when I am sick or have a bad migraine. He tells me when I should go to bed (10pm EXACTLY, never fails) and if I sleep in, he lets me know that I am on his time and should get up, NOW.

He can be a total pain in the ass, and anyone who has a pet knows they are like kids (just better behaved most of the time) and take time and paitence. Which is part of having one.

I really hate and become upset when I hear of people abusing a pet. Easiest way for me to attack someone is hit a kid, woman or a pet. I broke several ribs in my ex-father in law when he kicked a dog that got under his feet. Sorry dickhead, you stepped on him, he yelped, you dont need to do something and kick a 10 pound dog. Needless to say he tried to have me charged, I brought up the dog at the vet.. no charges for me.. but he had 100 hours of community service.

I think everyone should have a pet, they ground you (cleaning up poop or puke does that to you), they also let you know no matter what there is at least somebody who loves you, they maybe fuzzy, with a wet nose and fart when laying in bed with you (no its not your spouse), but its all for love. Even if you fart with them under the covers, you know they wont get mad, they might leave the bedroom, but they will come back. :D

Spazz is my pet, or his pet parent as many people say. A 8.5 pound fuzz ball who is hyper-active with the need to chase paper balls, explore boxes (he loves when UPS/Fed Ex comes) and share my hot wings (when I am not looking).

Everyone needs a pet.

I agree, 100%. Mrs.Plato and I were adopted by our cat, Muffin, who, while very sucky and very loud, is our fluffy boy. I also agree, that anyone that doesn't like at least least some type of animal as a pet is trustworthy. And animal cruelty should be treated the same as it's human-counter part.

My wife and I have an English Bulldog, a Beagle-Basset mix, and a cat who I suspect suffers from ADD. These are our children. Admittedly it gets a bit cramped in our two bedroom apartment sometimes, but wouldn't change it for the world!

I am watching my little kitty extra close right now, she got got "fixed" on Saturday. I took her to a Humane Society Clinic and it only cost $35.00, problem was the Vet let an MD come in and help, which wouldn't have been a problem, but she wasn't a surgeon and didn't have any experience in surgery. When she stitched up Ninja she messed up and pushed too much skin together, so now my kitty has a bunch of skin that will fall off along with her stitches. :(
