Pre-Alpha Everquest

EQ was not my first MMO, but it was the first one to hold me tight and never let go (even 2 years since quitting EQ I still feel the draw to go back).

Nothing has come close to Everquest's sense of adventure and awe. Exploring new zones, leveling up, sailing on ships, seeing your first dragon, first giant, or even causing your first train..

I have played ever MMO out, even with the newest technologies, EQ still just gives me that warm feeling in the pit of my stomach..

I will never go back, even tho the 13th expansion for it looks and sounds wicked, the tens of thousands of hours put into that since Beta 3 will never come up to the first time you start up the game and explore..

BUT Boy was it ugly back in the day

- back in the day when a crash of the Alpha met.. you may have to reinstall WINDOWS
- back in the day when talking to another character COULD CRASH YOUR GAME
- back in the day when collisions went wonky and you could fall through the world..
