Like many others I play on several types of gaming platforms. With gaming developers releasing titles on all the major platforms it's up to the console developers to differentiate the differences in the game play on their console. The game developers themselves seem to have no interest in releasing this information. Console developers are also releasing titles meant to show off the power of the game platforms that are exclusive to one console. These major titles seem to be the only place we are consumers can find the differences. However, I believe the console developers still need to work on showing "what is gained" by purchasing a gaming title produced by a third party on their platform verses another one. Take EA's Army of Two or Ubisoft's GRAW2, what is different about the game play in the PS3 version verses the XBox 360 version? Is there any difference? I'm sure there are differences, but the game developers are holding this information very close to the vest for fear that the platform developer. As an outsider looking in, the gaming industry appears to be full of side deals being cut all the time to one up a competitor. While I'm not questioning this practice we as consumers need to demand more information on what the difference in the games are. Otherwise if a game title is released on one platform before the others will lead to a game being a bigger hit in most cases on one console verses another.
