What a glorious day made up day Black Friday is. After what other holiday do you go to sleep at 8 PM just so you can get 8 hours of sleep because of what happens in the morning? On this day which is always the Friday after Thanksgiving there are “big time” sales in every major department/home improvement/drug store/mom and pop store/gas station in America. Not only do 99% of retail businesses come together to hold the biggest sale of the season on ONE DAY, they each compete for your business hoping that they can lure you in with the “lowest prices” and “door busters” to spend all your money.
This competition between businesses has lead to many stores to open their store at as early as 4 AM!! What is better is what 85% of people do not understand how much work goes into Black Friday sales by the lowly worker. Not only do store employees get paid minimum wage to slightly above minimum wage, on this day of “holy days,” these poor bastards have to come into work the day after Thanksgiving at 3 AM or earlier.
All for what reason you ask? So businesses can make more $money$.
What is good about this “Black Friday” ?
Businesses compete for my business all on ONE DAY! For those of you who have heard of Black Friday have probably never researched this in the past. If you are a thrifty shopper and even semi into the internet you probably have done your research at most 1 month ahead. Just type in “black Friday” into any web browser and see how many results you find.
Search “Black Friday” on any web browser and see how many results you get. I get about 18,200,000 in .14 seconds. You can find sites that have discussion threads about what sales “might” happen. You can also find forums discussing the deals they got in the past on this glorious day! Others might share their horror stories of waiting in line the Wednesday before Thanksgiving just to save sometimes $499 or more on a laptop and then get shafted because they sold out too fast and there wasn’t enough product.
But the best info about searching for “Black Friday” on the internet is you will find the ad’s for the businesses for black Friday before they are released to the public in the newspaper. The employees (that have to come into work at 3 AM the day after Thanksgiving) steal the add and then make a copy of them and post it on the internet. Those of us who are thrifty and want to get the best deal out there spend countless hours before hand looking into and thinking about what we need/want/desire to buy cheap. Most times we buy crap that is pointless and we would have never bought, just because its 50% off. Sneaky businesses!!
What you can find is the best of the best of the best deals by going to these sites/forums host and viewing all the sales. Then you can come up with a plan of attack to get to all the most important places with the best “door busters” and sales out there. If you have older kids/friends/family/neighbors you can bring them along and drop them off at these locations with an add and shopping list. Just so you can spend more to save more!!
Visit slickdeals.net for the coolest place out there and check out their section dedicated for black Friday and check out the ads before they are released.
Stay tuned for my Black Friday report… if I have any $money$ to go brave the sales!
