10 Simple Ways to Improve Your COD:BOs experience

my success with Black Ops has come from knowing and utilizing 10 basic things.

1.) the ads is shit. the only time you should use the ads is when you are a machine gunner and are holding a position, mainly because that is the only weapon class that sucks ass when you fire from the hip. if you are a gunner, go prone and watch an intersection and wait for the carnage to begin. because the ads is shit, the people who run into your field of fire have no chance to hit you as long as you're prone. when they go ads, you're already hitting them which leads to their retical climbing and you are positioned low. unless they know you are there and toss a grenade, you're golden. this works great in dom games, not as well in tdm games because the spawns can change to quickly.

2.) run with the pistol out. if you are going somewhere quick, like at the beginning of the game and know you won't encounter any resistance, switch to the pistol and haul ass. this is like it used to be when you "run faster with the knife." everyone should know this.

3.) your choice of weapon dictates how you play the game. using an ar, sit back and let the faster smg dudes run in and get the quick easy kills and you follow, backing them up so no one spawns on their ass. i've noticed i always get the dogs in a game when i do this. i believe i went like 49 and 2 on a game this past saturday doing it. got the dogs twice.

4.) because the ads is shit, spray and pray is the new mantra. everyone say it with me....spray and pray. this goes for any gun except machine guns. smg players should never find themselves in a situation where they are forced to aim their weapon at all. running in crowded, small rooms...good, running in the open...bad. this actually goes for ar guys too, but with a caveat...take the length of your guy and multiply it by 3. (15-20 ft in game) if your enemy is this far away from you, forget about aiming, just pull the trigger and strafe like it was halo. if you manage to get the first shot on your opponent, then aim. if not, keep going.

5. )if you have an smg, the mac11 is the best spray and pray weapon. get extended mags and go nuts. if you don't like that idea and still want the option of firing off a few aimed shots, the ak-74 is the way to go. any other smg but these two is shit. you either want high rate of fire (mac11) or better accuracy (ak-74) playing the middle of these two options makes you unspecialized and can confuse and compromise your role in certain games on certain maps.

6.) snipers suck. don't use em.

7.) extended clip is probably the best attachment to have for every weapon, no matter what. reload times in this game are slooooowwwwwww. it is useful to have a weapon that has a clip big enough to reliably kill 3 people without reloading. it is also an experience acheivement, so just by having it and using it, you rank up faster. the silencer is the other experience milestone acheivement.

8.) hold a flank whenever you can. i'm not saying don't ever move, i'm saying when you do, use the side of the map as an extra defender. if you know the map boundary is to your left, that's one direction you don't have to worry about.

9.) most perks are useless. ghost is useful early on. hardline is probably the best. because there is no stopping power anymore, the new dominant perk is hardline. you get streaks with one less kill, you get to reroll carepackage killstreaks so you can try for dogs or chopper gunners. there is no beating it. the best number 3 perk is now hacker. is makes using any equipment by the enemy a waste, plus you can booby trap care packages.

10.) maintain the spawns. if you can maintain your spwan and still hold the middle of the map, you have pretty much won already. this goes for every gametype except search and destroy and ctf where you still have to split the map, you just have to do it on a diagonal. if you do this, you don't have to worry about anyone sneaking up behind you. you can now focus your attention on the view to your front and immediate left and right...and if you listened to #8, you have one less direction to look at.

hope this helps.

The snipers that I have been on the receiving end of always seem to be aiming about 1~2 feet above my head.

Never trust the accuracy of the kill cam, it is never correct, never has been, even on IW made games. ADS is still more accurate than shooting from the hip, the auto aim is just diminished to accommodate for the people who constantly fire the weapons by pulling the left trigger just before the right trigger. I found it best to just take off the auto aim altogether.

Also when you get hardline pro, run sam turret, care package and Sentry gun.(4,5,6). You'll get them at 3,4,5 and you can re-roll all three. If you don't like what you get in the re-roll, have a teammate with hardline pro try.

To help with reload time, I would suggest the dual mag attachment. It makes every odd reload much faster and it actually increases the amount of ammo you spawn with. And I agree, hacker is the best tier 3 perk. It gives away campers positions because you can see the equipment (eg. Camera spikes, claymores, motion sensors) and the pro version makes you invisible to motion sensors. Put it on a class with ghost and your favorite silenced weapon, you have got youself a nice stealth class.
