It's weird...

Yes, it's fake.  I've known that since I was 12... doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the hell out of it for 30+ years now.  My first favorite was for Dick the Bruiser ('cause my dad liked him).  Not quite normal for a young Indiana boy (at the time) to like pro-wresting... much less a "bad guy" (depending on when you watched, that is... they change around alot).  But after my dad died and my mom got sick (early onset Alzheimers... waaaay before anyone had heard about it) I was moved to Concord, NC ('76).  Soon I had a new fave...  I'll give you three guesses, and the first two don't count.

I've watched and enjoyed Ric Flair for nearly 2/3 of my life now.  I don't care what form of entertainment you're into... James Brown? Hardest working man in show business??!!?  NOT EVEN CLOSE!  Ric Flair would bleed ("the crimson mask!") to entertain the fans.  He'd enfuriate thousands so that they'd cheer wildly for his opponent.  He'd talk a blue streak that every kid I grew up with would try and imitate.  He's just simply "The Man".

I could go on, but I won't... better to let him speak for himself.  Here's a few of my favorites:

So long, Slick Ric!!!  You'll always be the Man!

I live in Fort Wayne and believe it or not, Dick the Briuser is still going strong. He does local events and has his own public access show here in town.

He.is.greatness. Good that he's finally going, though. Nothing can compete with mid-1980s Nature Boy walking out with the 4 Horsemen. Whooooooooo!
