Shared on Thu, 05/22/2008 - 14:24Picked up my pre-ordered Wii FIt last night... hey, any additional motion on my part is an improvement!! (I'm definitely closer to the upper weight limit for the thing as plastered on the narrow side of the box than I want to be)
Set up was a breeze, and the thing is actually pretty fun. My Mii kinda swelled up a little bit, though! But the thing that really got my attention was the little sweet voice that says "Step on...". If you step on the balance board quickly, you get "O.K.!". But a little slower, and you get "Ooh!". The damn thing sounds like the little sister of a Turret from Portal!!! Freaky! I actually found myself trying to find out how many phrases it actually uses. ("Step off..." sounds VERY "Portal-like"... kinda like "I see you...") I just hope that I don't do something that makes machine guns pop out of the thing!
Re: Wii Fit. I think I'm going to like it. My intentions (paving the way to hell since 1964!) are to get up a little bit earlier in the morning and get a little movement going. I really like the emphasis on balance. It certainly makes some simple exercises just a bit more involved. Turns out my balance is quite good... my "Wii Fit Age" is 39 (chronologically I'm 43!). Much better than my first "Wii Sports" age... 52! (since improved). Favorites so far are Ski Jumping, Hula Hoop, and the marble/table games.
Oh.. and thanks again for voting on my daughters' calendar picture contest (Vote for picture #1 here: http://www.pureexpressionsphotography.com/portraits/movingmoments)!
