Shared on Fri, 04/13/2007 - 19:13So, I am glad to be here and have a safe haven away from the world that shuns us original gamers. I have been gaming for 30 years and lately I have found that it is not cool to be nearly 41 and still enjoy the thrill of an alternate reality that a good game can give.
I stopped playing Halo2 because of the prepubescent curtain climbers that constantly TK'd or sang rap lyrics at the top of their lungs accross Xbox Live.
The other night I had the good fortune to be playing Gears of War with some friends (also older gamers) and we met up with a fellow 2O2P member who told us about this site.
Gaming should be fun no matter what your age. It's about respect and keeping the gaming experience about what it is supposed to be...fun.
Maybe WE older gamers, the original gamers, are the cool ones. We appreciate how far things have come and are smart enough to make friends instead of enemies.
