Why for the love of god are gas prices going up?

I read a news story today about how oil is slipping to new lows, yet gas prices are going up due to refineries cutting back on production.  Now I realize the the oil companies are not to blame for our nations current economic shit hole, but mother fucker,,,,,,they sure as hell did not help the fuck out at all when they made gas go to over $4.  One of the reasons a lot of people could not pay there mortgages, other than they had no business buying a champaign house on a RC Cola budget, is because they had to make a choice.  Put $100 worth of gas in a YUGO to go to work to be able to at least eat, or sit at home for the next 3 months eat and wait on the forclosure to set in.  I am no for govt stepping in and running everything, but something has to be done.  I think we as a nation should start a boycott on gas for about a week.  That should be enough to get the greedy fucks attention.  Oh by the way Exxon Mobile posted record profits at a time when every other company is folding up and going home.

In case you have not noticed I am extremely pissed off about this.  I am sorry if this blog does make sense.  I feel better now.

Gas never went below about $2.15 here at the lowest...but yeah, it's still going up. Those greedy bastards got too used to the record profits and now want more again. If $140/barrel = $4/gallon, then shouldn't $30/barrel = $0.86/gallon.... These people need to be introduced to the chair.

Not to set you off, but it wasn't that long ago that tankers were loitering in the Gulf of Mexico waiting until prices rose so they could offload their crude.

a boycott wouldn't do any good...go buy a hybrid or an economy car, that will make them think.

oil companies are the ones who own the refineries. They usually own them under "child" companies so it doesn't look like 1 big fucking monopoly. This is why I don't have a car and refuse to get one. (easy to do in Chicago though)

A one week boycott??? They'll just raise the price the second week. They know we'll be back.

I just read an article on the drudge that said light sweet crude was almst below 30 dollars a barrel, yet gas prices are climing again, edging over 2 dollars due to refiners cutting back yet again... I was so mad talking about this with my wife I studdered a little bit. When oil was near 140 and prices were at 4 dollars they said that the market set the price... well then why isn't the pump price now below a dollar? It makes me numb when I see how truly like cattle we really are... good post Fly!
