The difference between Wizzo butter and this dead crab!

Not too much has been going on recently, just work and some gaming in the evenings when I get home. Not much else to speak of.

The BIOS on my motherboard decided to die the other day as well. Well dunno if die is the right word. Whenever I boot the machine, it just sits at the post-op screen. Delete or F4 doesn't take me to the BIOS.

I tried resetting the CMOS jumpers & removing the battery for 10 minutes. Neither one worked. Took the ram out, unhooked the hard drive. Booted with my XP disc in the drive. Nothing.

Thats the bad news.

The worse news...is that I couldn't find anyone that carried a motherboard that would take my RAM or CPU. Or if I found one that did, it would mean I'd need to buy new hard drives.
I'd rather replace the RAM, CPU & video card than my hard drives.

So I went to newegg.com and ordered some new parts for my monster rig.

Here be the specs when I'm done:
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66ghz, 1333mhz FSB, L2 cache 4M shared
RAM: 3 GBs of DDR2 800
Motherboard - Sli-ready, upgradable to 8gb of ram & quad-core processor capable.
Video - EVGA Nividia 8800GT, 512MB GDDR3

Total came out to be about $586 total. Thats not too bad I guess. Its a good enough system that I could spend little later on to upgrade.

In other news.

My Premium 360 died (might have said so in my last blog....dont remember).
So I sent it off to Microsoft. Relatively painless process. Got the coffin, slapped the box in, taped it up, remailed.
The odd thing was I got it back maybe 4-5 days later.
And it still didn't work. So I've had to put in for another coffin. Should get that by Wednesday/Thursday and sent back out by Friday hopefully.
Thankfully I got an Elite. So I can be patient.
Will more than likely sell the refurb to recoup some of the cost of the Elite.
