To believe in the American dream. A dream that with real hard work and dedication, a man or woman could achieve anything they set out to do. Start a business, build a home, start a family, become a star....

Thats all going to "change".

I was raised and taught that you worked hard for a living. You worked for what you had. If you didn't work, you didn't deserve shit, because you were lazy. The lazy did not benefit from the labor of others.

Thats all going to "change".

Alot of people will disagree with me. And thats fine. But I believe we are in for some shit.

I'm in no way rich....and no way make over 250K. But I do know that if businesses are given breaks, they can afford to hire more people. That means more jobs. That means better economy. Not saying the middle class doesn't deserve a break too. But I can't even say Im middle class. I make less than 15K a year, and I pay taxes just like everyone else. But I don't want a free handout. I wanna work for what I get. And I don't want any more taken out of my paycheck to go towards someone whose too goddamn lazy to get a job, or came over here illegally and wants medical coverage.

I am just glad I don't have to worry about putting gas in my car or paying my mortgage because if I help him, he will help me.

I was raised the same way...but somehow we moved away from those ideals. Now hopefully with this new leader and more control over the governmental branches we can start to "change" back.

Good Lord, even if it were possible, you don't really think your country is going to turn into a Socialist state overnight? The US already has lots of Socialist policies and programs that protect the old, sick or disadvantaged. You shouldn't fear such policies. Unbridaled capitalism is also something to be feared as the recent economic failures have proven. It's after such failures that a bit of Socialism has helped recovery. Look to the past for examples of how it works.

Odds are already stacked against you moving up in the world..the wealthy saw a massive increase in wealth in the last decade while the middle class got squeezed...If anything it will become easier for you to move from poor to middle class or middle class to wealthy...harder to go from wealthy to super wealthy maybe but im ok with that.

No I dont think it'll happen overnight. Nothing involving government ever does. But every step closer to socialism is a step I'd rather avoid.

wow, is the whole site republicans? How do you possibly say the country is worse off today than it was yesterday? You've had Bush for 8 years and NOW you are scared??? Why is it that everyone outside of the US appreciated Obama and what he represents more than Americans themselves?

So....I guess all of you who make 250k and over are PISSED. Socialist? What is socialist about giving a tax break that the wealthy enjoyed, to the middle class? Was it not damned near a dictatorship to ensure wealthy get the best of the tax breaks in the last administration. So, all of you.....go look up....those crazy complicated words.... Socialist. "Middle Class, and income" ....and see where you fall -....bash me fine, but are all of you doing that well? If you are, welp....Fuck off....I pay more in taxes then my wife makes.
