Shared on Fri, 04/25/2008 - 09:44Another end to another work week. And I am glad as usual.
A friend of mine called me that I haven't talked to in a while. I should start calling him more often, but anytime I think about it, the thought dies just as quickly as it came.
He's a good guy, and sorta stuck where he is right now and hates it. Right now he's in Kentucky I believe, living in a studio apartment and actually managing to hold down a job and keep his bills paid. Thats a first for him on several fronts.
I told him he was in a better spot than I was for sure. He disagreed saying that he was "lonely". Well...I'm lonely too alot of the time when I'm at my place, but what can you do right? Go outside and deal with assholes, or chill at home and entertain yourself with hobbies.
I much prefer hobbies. But thats just me.
In other news...got this sweet ass keyboard yesterday while I was in gamestop. The dorkiness of it just overtook me and I bought before I realized what I had done. But I am actually glad I got it.
Its a ZBoard.
The face of the keyboard swaps out for customized keysets that you can buy for specific games. Looks like it wouldn't work right....or its just too gimmicky.
It actually works really well and feels right.
You can also create your own custom keysets for a game (without being in that particular game), and save it for later use. I use the default layouts for Gears of War and Unreal Tournament 3 and they feel very natural and alot more comfortable than using a standard keyboard. And when your done gaming, pull a tab up, fold that keyset up and set it aside, and slap the original keyset in and get back to typing or whatever without having to reboot the pc or using a weird menu.
It was quick and easy to install with zero issues. Even updating worked the first time. Which is a rarity. I like it alot and recommend it to anyone that wants a little more out of their keyboard. And for the $49.99 price tag, its well worth the money.
Now if only I can find a decent "gaming" mouse.
Well you all have a good weekend and I'll see you on Live.
