Shared on Sat, 03/14/2009 - 21:14I went to Wal-mart and dropped some cash on a Playstation 3.
Why? do you ask? To try something a little different. Not really any other reason than that. Yeah I gave a lot of people shit about getting PS3s. But deep down I didn't really care because we're all gamers. As long as we're happy with what we're gaming on...nothing else matters.
So I picked up the 80 gb version. Spent about 30+ minutes getting it all setup. It was a little annoying, but luckily no major networking issues or snags. Just long download times for all the updates.
I also went to gamestop and picked up Killzone 2 and Metal Gear Solid 4. So far I'm digging MGS4. Solid controls, great graphics. Though I haven't played enough to really dig into the story yet.
Killzone 2 is another matter. It looks great. The game is just frigging beautiful. The controls....or at least some of the gameplay mechanic choices are a little annoying. Theres this really annoying head bob that happens when you're moving. Shooting is not like it is in other FPSs....its not as precise. You have to really take your time and aim. Very tiring....but it keeps the pace somewhat slow despite all the craziness going on around you.
I haven't gotten into any MP matches yet...but I'm looking to.
I figure if I end up not liking it....I can always take the PS3 back to the store and sell the games here on 2old2play to someone who would want them.
