Joystick Update #3

Well...spent most of yesterday in prep work, getting setup to start on the remade sticks. Ended up only being able to find 3/4" thick MDF board, but thats ok. Not too huge of a difference than the particle board.


 


Got the first box cut out and assembled to make sure the new board thickness wouldn't interfere with the guts of the stick. And to me it looks perfect.


Also, the joystick assembly fits nicely into the routered area. Nice and snug...no router template necessary. View Image

I'll post another update later once I get the other 2 sticks built and I start the priming/painting process.

I know it sucks, but you made a good choice abandoning the particle board. The MDF will last you a lot longer and give you more options while working with it.\r \r Make sure you pad the underside. You'll thank me after a 3-hour gaming session. ;-)
