First thing I noticed was there was a considerate amount of "lag" in the melee. Not sure if this was a "ODST are slower than Master Chief so......they melee slower too?"
Second...oh here's this bad-ass silenced SMG that you'll use for 5 minutes, run out of ammo, and then have to trade for some shit covenant weapon that I hate....because apparently only the Master Chief and regular marines know how to use Battle Rifles. Yeah remember all those covenant weapons you didn't use in Halo 3's campaign? Get ready to get REAL friendly with them all. Even the plasma pistol. Which they tell you to use in certain situations. I'm sorry....no. Either give me a BR....or give me more ammo for this awesome smg you start me off with. Don't make me drop it for some POS brute plasma rifle. I want my BR! hehe
I was playing 2-player coop with my buddy chainer. LAG city. Normally we both have really good connections....so its gotta be Live stressing under all the ODST players on at once or something. Can't say for sure.
Ammo....or lack there of. Being Master Chief also apparently means that you automatically get more ammo in every gun than anyone else....ever. Picking up a shotgun with 12 shots? I wasn't aware I turned the famine skull on. hmm.
Overall I'm digging it. But I think they made some silly choices to bump up the "difficulty" and sell the whole "you aren't Master Chief now" experience. I'm not buying....because I can still leap like a freak...and I carry turrets faster than the Master Chief does. So explain dat one. lol.
As for the story so far. Its very fascinating seeing the war through a different visor for once. Playing as characters that...you know....talk and have emotions and whatnot. Not robots.
Is it worth $60? I dunno honestly. A lot of people will say yes....the MP disc alone is worth the $60....ODST is the free icing on the cake. I say thee nay. But thats just me.
I'll write up more as I dig into the game more tomorrow after work.
Its gonna be a looooooong work day.
