Oh I see...so its ok for some.

G
Gatsu

I see how it is.

Ok for a few to push buttons and to jab where they want. But the second someone happens to step up and give a little jab back...and to a admin no less, the mods all stand and say "hey guy...too far." Whats up with that?

So setting the rooms topic to: maybe you 2 can go suck each other off while you play gears of cunt and fondle cliffy b's ballsack with your feet... then for desert you can talk about how crackdown is a "game" and not just a $60 halo 3 beta disc' - is just fine and dandy, but the second I respond or push back a little in jest mind you, I get harassed about it. And others get harassed as well. I get told thats too far. But saying that I can go suck someone off is ok?

No. No its not.

Not cool at all. Just because admins have power, doesn't mean it should be abused when you are pissed off. Sorry yer pissed, but take the finger away from the red button, go cool off, then come back when you aren't pissed off. If you wanna vent. Post a fucking blog. And if you cant say it in a blog, maybe its better not said at all. Or maybe you need to speak to whoever it is you're pissed off at.

You want people on the site to act a certain way? then be an example. Yeah you are human and you have bad days. But don't take them out on people who don't deserve it.

That's it. And I'd appreciate it if no one responded. You don't like whats in this blog? Too bad. This is my space to vent. Move along.

Gatsu OUT!

Blogs are perfect for this stuff. Heart on my sleeve sort of outlet to the world.\r \r Can you put a price on a feeling? Can I buy a sincere hug brotha

This could have been a PM - true. However, the PM would probably reference specific names and probably more curse words.\r \r And PM's don't relieve as much stress as blogging, it's not like he targeted someone and told them \"where to go.\"

It's about chat and not the forums, so no links. And yes, there is a void of maturity in the chat room.

I agree KD :)

I hear often that things should be kept in PM, and yet it never happens. Sometimes you have to yell to the world how mad you are. Besides, its a generic blog, no names. \r \r IMHO

Well, why keep in a PM an incident that was public in chat...especially if he was called out in that chat?\r \r Shouldn't he have been talked to in PM then?

At what point does it stop being a coincidence that every time a problem with a mod surfaces, the same mod seems to be involved? Seems that \"abuse of authority\" and \"uneven application of standards\" seem to be a pretty frequent complaint, and it's usually the same person. \r \r I've encountered some even-handed and responsible mods who understand that their job, thankless as it may be, is to keep the peace and ensure that the TOS are being observed. Civil servants, if you will. Not potentates to be afforded deference. Not license to impose your will on others. And not immunity to the same rules by which the rest of the site operates. \r \r Others seem to wear their mod status like a badge and wield their authority like a club. They react out of emotion, make snap judgments, and not do not stand on neutral ground. I can only hope that responsible mods won't continue to tolerate this kind of behavior.

A follow up: \r \r A PM would be inappropriate. First of all, there are no direct accusations being made here. It's a general gripe and no reason to keep it between two parties, as one party is not ever named. Second of all, if your complaint regards abuse of authority or lack of evenhandedness, taking it to a private forum only serves to cover up and further enable the type of behavior that is being discussed. Imagine this situation;\r \r Suspect: \"Officer, I would like to file a complaint against you. You beat me with a rubber hose while in interrogation!\"\r \r Officer: \"Sure, just step into this windowless room with me and we'll get that complaint filed.\"

I still think its pointless to use a blog. Especially when I had no PMs or any idea what was going on until now. Also, because of the fact that there are no names could lead people to feel ill towards me when I was not even apart of the situation or present at the time. It makes others speculate on something they were never involved in and builds more strife withing the community.

Charlie dont surf!!\r \r BTW: GO gats, go gats!!
G

thats true doodi. and I apologize if it causes any ill will towards the admins. \r \r Not my intent. If you want any details or anything PM me if need be. We can discuss it there.
D
DrTHE0P0LIS·
Well, Doodi, I'm going to disagree with you and compliment you at the same time. I hate you and your hair smells nice. Joke. Anyway, you, like the rest of us, have a reputation. Accurate or not, yours is one of a fair and level-headed individual. You are humble in your ways and careful not to step on toes. You receive the benefit of the doubt, in my book, because of past actions. Difficult to think that Gatsu would be speaking of you, but I see your point.\r \r But if people are making assumptions about who the mod was in this case, we already have a problem. Somebody has earned a bad reputation. This entire post is about the reputation and past actions of another.
L
LuxDraconis·
I respect the persons space to vent, and too confront the problem after the vent, the problem can become clearer to the venter. He then can start on a clearer and more productive way to solve the problem. i.e. the sounding board.\r \r Gatsu since I joined 2o2p I've enjoyed your blog, and still do. thanks

Sorry it was such a serious thing today peeps...will try to post something more light-hearted tomorrow.

How about you list the mods NOT on the shit list? j/k :)\r \r
