A new job opportunity has fallen into my lap. My Aunt works for a local bank and heard their IT department is looking for some new blood. She apparently knows the head IT guy, so she talked to him about me and my background.

He told her to get my resume and send it to him ASAP.

Benefits, better pay, new situation, more fun.....seems like a good opportunity. Now comes the but. But theres the whole...learning a new job.....getting to know all new people...all new everything.

So theres the fear of change.

I'm going to go over my resume tonight and email it to her so she can forward it to whoever it needs to get to.

Fingers crossed only good will come from this.

I've been in IT for 15 years - you always have that fear of the unknown - but after you are in and doing your shit for awhile it becomes old hat. Don't let fear get in the way of a better opportunity....oh and I hate IT lol

Its tough to get out of our "comfort zones" but it sounds like an opportunity, best of luck.

Dude...you and I have talked before. I know you hate your current job and especially your boss and lets not forget the dog. So I say go for it. You'd probably enjoy it way more then the current one. Besides..then you can create this program to transfer 10000th of a cent on every transaction...I saw it in a movie..they'd never suspect :P
