A weekend of technological horrors & suffering.

And there was much weeping and gnashing of teeth this past weekend.

The BIOS on my pc got fubar'ed somehow. Don't make me explain how....its stupid and almost made me toss the system right out the window.

So had to reset the BIOS.

At first I thought the BIOS problem was a hard drive problem because Windows wouldn't load at all. It'd give me a memory dump error and reboot.
So I put in my Windows disc to reinstall.....no go. Gives me an error and restarts.

I format my hard drive. Re-insert the Windows disc.....still a no go. Same error.

WTF.....

Then I looked the error up. BIOS error.....so I pulled the battery on the motherboard and let it sit for an hour.
Put the battery back in......STILL A NO GO.

So I take the disc out.....look it over. A Tiny little smudge. So I wipe the disc off.........success. WTF....a smudge...a little tiny smudge thats smaller than the tip of my pinky finger.
WTF........

On tonights agenda......re-install windows on a machine that didnt need to be formatted in the first place.

Oh and it turns out my Halo disc is the reason for my map-loading woes. Oh and here's the best fucking part. I call Gamestop, tell them I still have the receipt for the game, and they won't swap the disc for me.

So I've gotta drop another $59.99 on a new copy. Because I'll be fucked sideways if I buy a used copy and get the same issue.

So this was my shit weekend.

Hurray for Monday! Salvation. No wait......that means I'm at work.
