What is your perfect game?

By perfect...I mean perfect for you. What elements combined make the most awesomely amazing game that you would never stop playing until #2 of that game came out?

I ask, because today while at work I started thinking about what makes a game great. Well sales right? higher sales the better the game? right? Nope.
I hate madden....but alot of people buy the new one every year and love it.
Same with COD4. Alot of people love it, but its just not doing it for me. And I'm sure its selling really well.

A "great game" is entirely based on an individual and what they enjoy.

Some like cover-based shooters.....some dig run & gun. Some like some RPGish elements mixed in for fun. Some only like RPGs.

So here is my "dream game".

It would be a cross-company project enlisting the talents of Epic, Bungie, BioWare & Ubisoft.

The game would use a aborted bastardized mix of the Havoc engine, and the Unreal 3 engine.
Set in a post-apocalyptic future (or on another world). Its 3rd or 1st person shooter. (with the press of a button you can switch perspectives on the fly) but when you go into cover it goes into 3rd person (like Rainbow Six Vegas).
You can hold 4 weapons max (selected with the D-pad). Other abilities are brought up by using the Left Shoulder Button and selected with the left thumbstick, or you can map it to the X button.
The cover system works just like Gears of War's cover system (but fixed and working 100%). Remember...its a dream game.
And each character class you can choose from has their own abilities and attributes that focus on a different style of combat.

The single player campaign would be massive and immersive along the lines of Mass Effect. You can go to other planets and explore them at your leisure...or skip it all and stick to the story. You level up and get different abilities and classes to choose from. Just like Mass Effect. You can customize your characters look, race, hair, scars, tatoos (that you can design yourself), and armor decals.

The campaign will also include up to 4-player co-op. Each person joining the in the co-op match will be able to choose an existing member of the hosts party, or bring their own character in instead.

The soundtrack would not include music by Incubus or Breaking Benjamin (sorry Bungie).

Now onto Multiplayer.
A party system developed by Bungie - 24 players max.
Live ranked of course for those cockstrong types who wanna increase their rank and be top dog on the leaderboard - same features as halo 3
Custom games - play with up to 23 friends. You can choose either a premade character class template, or load your campaign character. As many options and choices as Halo 3 and more. So a deeply customizeable multiplayer experience.
Custom Map Builder - customize & create your own map from several templates, or build your own from scratch.
Theater - Just like Halo 3's theater mode. Wouldn't change a thing.

So a mix of Halo 3's party system, multiplayer customizeability and theater features, Gears of War style visuals & cover system & play mechanic, Mass Effects massive sandbox campaign and its RPG elements.

What would the title of this epic game be? hell I dunno.

What's your dream game thats never been made?

I'd say pinball that I could win. Stupid bumpers never work right. Or I've got really bad hand-eye coordination.....

Your perfect game sounds a lot like "Huxley". Sort of. one thing though. MP has to be on centralized servers. No host advantage damnit!

@ Soup nope...not Huxley...they fuggled that all to hell making it an MMO. Doesnt need to be an MMO. 4-player Co-op in the campaign and 24 player multiplayer is good enough for me. lol. And I do agree. Being able to setup a centralized server will eliminate host advantage. But how to implement it with the 360 and still have options and whatnot being edited by the people playing the game?
