It ran on a single AA battery, all four wheels were powered and it had working headlights. Sure, that's neat, but I liked them because I could take them apart and wire up extra batteries to it and make it run like a scolded dog.
Recently, those experiences came to mind when I was in my backyard looking at the handful of PowerWheels cars I have for my kiddos to ride on. They all run on one or two 6 volt batteries and I thought to myself - "You should wire up some more batteries and really get those things cranking!"
I did some Googling and came up with this website - http://www.modifiedpowerwheels.com/ and this guy is all about exactly what I am wanting to do. His entire website is about how to modify your working or nonworking PowerWheels vehicle to operate on higher voltages, adding lights, horns, radios, etc. How cool is that?

I just hope my kids don't end up looking like this:
